Curved tempered glass, also called bend tempered glass or bent toughened glass, is a type of safety glass that’s made using the same method as tempered glass. To create it, the glass is heated and then rapidly cooled to create compressive stress that increases its strength. This makes curved tempered glass just as strong as tempered glass. However, because it has a unique shape, it also has better resistance to wind pressure compared to tempered glass.

The most common shape for curved tempered glass is an arc. The process starts with float glass being heated until it becomes soft, and then it's bent into the desired shape using either its own weight or external pressure. Afterward, the glass is uniformly and rapidly cooled to create the final product.

• For glass with a thickness of 6mm or less, the bending radius should be at least 1.2 meters.
• For glass with a thickness of 8mm or more, the bending radius should be at least 1.6 meters.
• The arc length should generally not exceed half of a circle.

To calculate the radius of curved tempered glass, you can measure the chord length and height of the curve. If you know the chord length (L), height (h), and radius (R), the formula to calculate the radius is R = [(L/2)^2 + h^2]/2h.
